NANITOS
The firstborn in the Hybridus lineage, the Nanitos are gardener-beings of medium height with pumpkin-shaped heads. They were born and raised in the Ramakech vegetable garden. Underground labyrinths shelter them when they are not busy above ground.
Originating from a story the artist told his daughter, this reinterpretation reflects the new inspirations that emerged for him with the birth of his two sons a few years later.
Continuing his work across different scales, the mischievous Minitos soon appeared—small vegetable-headed guests who joyfully disrupt beautifully set tables.
Premiers nés dans la lignée des Hybridus, les Nanitos sont des êtres jardiniers, de taille moyenne et à tête de courge. Ils ont poussé et sont nés dans le potager de Ramakech. Leurs labyrinthes souterrains les y abritent lorsqu’ils ne sont pas occupés en surface.
Émanant d’un conte qu’il racontait à sa fille, cette interprétation illustre les nouvelles inspirations de l’artiste à la naissance de ses deux fils quelques années plus tard.
Dans la continuité de ses productions sur différentes échelles, apparaîtront dans la foulée les Minitos, petits hôtes farceurs à tête de légumes, chamboulant allègrement de jolies tables dressées.
