Maxitos, the giant hybrid character of Ramakech

Maxitos lives in the Giant’s House at Ramakech, in Marrakech. This imposing hybrid character, hidden from view for years, can now regularly be spotted in the vegetable garden, between two rows.

His daily life shows in every detail of the house: plain, rustic furniture built at double scale, a clock slowly marking the wait for his return, two maze-like paths that lose the curious visitor before they even reach the door.

Maxitos belongs to the wide Hybridus family that populates Jean-François Fourtou’s world. Like Nanitos and Minitos in the vegetable garden, he carries his own story and his own scale , one more piece in the mythology the artist has been building at Ramakech for over twenty years.
